I’m Carlee, the Celebrant. I’ve been married for 12 years. I’ve been to countless weddings including that of my moms, and my dad and step-mom. I have planned over 100, including my sister’s, as well as weddings on Vancouver Island, Squamish, Vancouver, Whistler, and Pemberton. I know that love comes in all shapes and sizes and that the happiest couples are the ones who make it fit them. I have twin daughters whose dress-up box is all-time amazing - our family does three-generation Halloween themed costumes like Annie Leibowitz is coming to shoot portraits, and it’s all with glitter, thrift store finds, and a deep collection of fairytales. It’s genuinely next-level. And still, the girls gravitate, endlessly, towards playing bride. They’re not sick of the love story. And neither am I. I just want to ground my romanticism in the practical. Details have always been my forte. I’ve been a project manager, a wedding planner, a marathon organizer. I can multi-task like a ninja and not break a sweat. Maybe it’s the runner in me - or the dancer. But I’ve always believed that the heart of a wedding is the ceremony - the moment time freezes, and everything becomes very still - eyes lock, and a promise swirls into life, voiced, witnessed, answered. It gets me every time. And I think the magic is more powerful, when you understand going into it, that that is the potent moment, and you invest some forethought and intention in the crafting of it. Can I help with that? I have a lot of insight into what keeps love going. I’m committed to “ever after.” I am a really good listener, and I want to hold space for you to be vulnerable with each other and the people invited into the bigger circle of witnessing. I consider it an honour to hear your story of finding each other, and to help you craft a ceremony that honours that remarkable cosmic collision - your connection. If you revisit your vows 10 years later, like Dan and I recently did, will it give you tingles? Will it reinforce the craft in which you’re sailing together through this world? Let’s work together to make your moment - that declaration - woven and wonderful and powerful and true - just for you two. |
